HARD HAT THRILL - SOLBERG MINES

Put on your hard hat and experience a tour inside a real mineral mine and learn about the everyday life and working conditions 300 years ago. The Solberg mine was one of the 300-400 iron ore mines in the Arendal region that was a crucial part of the Danish-Norwegian empire.

Equipped with flashlights and hard hats, this is a perfectly safe visit to a mine that is no longer in operation but is now frequently visited by school classes and tourists. The tour can also be combined with a visit to Næs Ironworks Museum, where you can learn more about what happened to the iron ore after its extraction from the mines.
