“Solstrand” is one of the last authentic, classic fishing boats of its kind and a fantastic chance to experience the sounds and stories of life as a fisherman nearly 100 years ago. A Flekkefjord boat was built to last and fought the waves from north to south. “Solstrand” even has the original hull and machinery. This is a roundtrip on the fjord with a stop at Torsøyene, a set of islands passed by all boat traffic in and out of Flekkefjord and a favourite local recreation area.
A small walking bridge connects the two islands and as it is a public park; you may explore the entire islands. Here visitors can fish, swim, relax or enjoy the wildlife and ocean views from atop. Wooden benches, tables and a grill hut make it a perfect spot to have a “taste of Flekkefjord” lunch before returning to Port.
